RULES & REGULATIONS FOR
THE COMPETITION DISPLAY
AREA & COMMERCIAL SALE/EXHIBIT AREAS
Exhibitors
1. A non- refundable deposit of $20.00 per table (maximum of 3 tables), $20.00 per pegboard (maximum of 2) or $20.00 per 8ft space (if pegboard or table is not required) must be paid and returned with an entry form by December 30, 2007. Cheques are to be made payable to the Northern Manitoba Trappers’ Festival. Charges for tables and pegboards are necessary due to rental and maintenance fees. Available spaces are reserved on a first come – first serve basis.
a. Exhibitors may set up in the Uptown Mall (former Saan Store) from 2:00 pm until 7:30 pm the Thursday night before the show.
b. Exhibitors food items may be sold but not for consumption at the craft sale,
c. At about 12:00 noon of the Friday of the Arts and Crafts Show all Commercial Exhibitors Displays will be judged and one “Best Commercial Exhibit” plaque will be awarded.
d. On the Saturday of the Arts and Crafts Show, all exhibits must remain set up and open to the public until 5:00 pm. At that time all exhibitors are obligated under Manitoba Law to collect sales taxes of 7% and remit same with 10% commission to the N.M.T.F. representative who will be in attendance for this particular time. Receipts will be issued. This requirement specifically applies to all exhibitors who have no tax number.
e. The facility will remain open until 7:00 pm Saturday for all exhibits to be taken down and moved out.
Competition
2. Competition items need to be brought to the Uptown Mall (former Saan Store) main entrance from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 pm on the Thursday night before the show. There will be no limit on the number of entries per person per category; however, there is a 50 cent fee per item entered for competition in the show.
a. All items in competition must be the work of the entrant. Articles previously entered may not be entered again. All entries must be clean and not show any sign of wear. Name or marking indicating name of competitor must not appear until after judging.
b. Private judging of entries shall commence at 8:00 pm Thursday night before the show. No one is allowed in the area until judging is complete. No person shall interfere with judges performing their duties. Any breach of this rule by an exhibitor or competitor will result in disqualification.
c. In the absence of competition in a category, judges may award First, Second, Third or no prize and shall have it in their power to withhold any ribbon for entry which they may consider unworthy of the same.
d. All competition prizes will be paid out in cash. See the Director in charge of the Show on Saturday between 4:30 pm-5:00 pm to sign a pay out sheet for your money and pick up your entries. Your numbered tags are needed to claim entries. N.M.T.F. is not responsible for any article left after 5:00 pm on the Saturday of the show. Please make arrangements to have entries picked up if unable to do so in person.
e. Competition entries may not be removed until 4:00 pm-5:00 pm on the Saturday of the show. No competition entries will be allowed to leave at this time unless the numbered tag on the item matches the tag number in possession of the person (s). Any exception to this must be cleared by the Director in charge of the show.
3. The Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival is not responsible in the whole or in part for any theft or damage to or loss of any item entered for competition or on display or in an exhibit at the Arts and Crafts Show. The N.M.T.F. Board will attempt to have volunteer security available for the competition area, but this action does not imply in any way guarantee of safety or security of the above mentioned item (s) on the part of the Festival or the volunteer security person (s). As to the commercial exhibit/sales area, all exhibitors are responsible for the security of their belongings, products, and display items at all times. Insurance, if desired, is the responsibility of the exhibitor and competitor.
